The last day

The last day visiting the fam in NC was the nicest day we had weather wise...the other days were over cast and mostly rainy. But Monday the sun came out and we made the most of the weather.

This was one of many tractor rides. Grandpa is very generous in taking the kids on tractor rides, and they never seem to get sick of it. They get to take turns sitting on his lap to help drive.

Moriah was there to play the last couple days. Marlow and Eliot were especially glad to see her. I am impressed how well Marlow and Moriah play together. They didn't fight or argue at all and are very sweet to one another. Marlow actually seems to get along well with all her girl cousins (Ok, so only two of them are old enough for her to actually play with).

Nana and Marley

Carson. I think the hat really completed the look she has going on here....and it seems fitting that they live in a chink and log cabin.....I don't know she just looks like someone who would be holed up in a cabin in the snow somewhere with lots of books and tea.

Do you see the hornets nest they are pointing out? Beyond them on the hill is the guest cabin they are working on, and then beyond that is the house of course.

Gemma and Grandma

Gemma and Daddy....she is a popular subject these days...she is very smiley and generally always around. The bigger kids run off to play and are a tad harder to capture.

The kids room....a slumber party every night.

Eliot horseback riding -- this was a rainy day activity....cute and kind of sad, I mean, he is riding two stools with a taped on paper horse head. He thought it was fun though.

And finally -- Joseph was able to finish two books he has been working on for quite a while....he doesn't get much reading time at home, go figure.

We are home now. It is late and when I looked outside 10 min ago there was a light dusting of snow on the ground. If it sticks around we will have pictures of the kids playing in the slushy Chattanooga snow. They have the rest of the week off school, so we will try to find some fun things to do around home....we got several new games for Christmas and lots of new bionicles to play with. It shouldn't be too hard to fill the time.

Happy New Year.

I am starting to look forward to coming here every morning - thank you:) This morning I wish so badly that I could be there with you this week to talk and drink coffee and watch our children together. I miss you guys. I love all the pictures and stories. I feel a little more connected. What books did you read Joseph? Erik just put the books he read in 2007 on his blog. I should do the same but it's hard to remember. Ciao!

These look the making of some really good memories. That is an impressive stack of table side reading Joseph has. Glad you guys had such a nice holiday, and by the way, Gemma is so cute it's ridiculous.

I was going to ask the same question to Joseph: What books did you get to finish? Also, is that the same hat being passed around from Carson to Eliot to Joseph?

Happy New Year Amy! I'm back in computer world and catching up on all my favorite people. It was great to see pics of the farm. We just got chilly here in Tally, but with no fun snow to go with it.-currie

The books Joseph finished up in NC were The Time Travelers Wife and Chi Running. The stack next to him is what my folks are reading....a mix of theology, history, social commentary and probably a few of my sister's chapter books.
